Looking for a new suspension, I just have no clue about any of it.

I have the old man emu cookie cutter 2” lift kit, with an added leaf in the rear. I’d like to do something a little meatier so I can do more crawling ish. I would like to get 35s on her.
My thought would be to replace the old man with a full size truck suspension.
Any help would be great, trying to do junk yard finds and be a cheap SOB here…..

Good luck 35s without a body lift means tubbing the firewall. 33s with some basic upgrades will walk all over most jeeps with a good driver.

    4 run, 2 don't
Experience will get you further (and farther) than "full size truck suspension"

I say this because lifts do not attribute to clearance for larger tires, suspension lifts that is

Nothing wrong with OME, but if you are going to upgrade suspension, do so because you want specific valving and the ability to service said shocks

For 35's you will need to tub plenty

For the most part these IFS can be adjusted in so many configurations that it's really hard to give you the perfect answer.

Wheel offset, alignment specs, etc.... all make a difference on how your tires clear the body and frame.

I agree 33" would be a great option. If you can set up/dial in your suspension to clearance the tires at full stuff and lock to lock then you're golden!
Remember the higher you go the more down travel you lose in articulation before wheel lift off.

I have a few links in my sig that can get you on the right track to understanding lifts.

    Good Luck!

Hopefully this weekend I'll show a setup of my 33s. Full uniball upper and lower and heim inner and outer tierod. It will be cool to see how much travel you can get out of stock-length arms. CV axles will probably start to bind and I'm not sure the coilovers have the length to fully cycle it.
