Well the time is here for me to start to find a new truck...I definatley have decided on a Tacoma. I have decided that I want a DC, SB, 4x4. I think I would like to get the VSC + Atrac. What year's have this option? And is it only available with a TRD Offroad package? Thanks in advance.

Both good choices but auto has less issues and gets a tad better mileage.

I've driven both. By the way, welcome to the site!

I'm currently a sport owner but I've had an '09 off road 6spd and used my locker twice the year and a half that I owned it just to test it out. I much rather use a $10K first gen than a $30K second gen for the trails.

    08 TRD Rugged Trail Edition
Undercover,Pop n Lock, Hardwired GPS, Garage door opener , Scanguage II, wireless back up camera, X994 Basslink, ...Prefer stock and non invasive functional mods

WHOA that is waaaaaaaaaay too much for that truck...I know you want a 4WD but $27K for an 08 is about $4000 too high around here anyway.

I just bought this 2008 at a Toyota dealer for $20,000 before taxes (which are capped in SC at $300 for any reg vehicle) 20,500 OTD after DMV fees and $300 tax. dealer had "internet price" at $22,995

I actually traded a paid off 2010 Honda Accord coupe EX-L coupe for it. Honda wholesale was $19,500...(took my beating there LOL) Went basically key to key.

It is the Rugged Trail Edition and has the SR5 and TRD off road packages. 24K miles Ipod hookup, Not 4wd but 4wd here are not big because it doesn't snow and there is no off roading close by the beach.

I saved at least $7K to give up 24K miles but going forward depreciation will be A LOT less than if i had put the first miles on (or kept the Honda) . The guy that had the truck before me was clearly anal though. (I am not..LOL) ALL the extras were still there, tie downs, netting in the center console. seats were covered since new.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I paid $27.5K cash OTD for my Honda a year and a half ago so needless to say I will never buy another new car or truck . It was my first and last in 40 years of driving. Now I buy used like I always have and saved thousands over the years doing so. So I accepted this hit and am happy with my choice,

That's more than my brother in law paid for his loaded TRD sport new in 05. Granted his is an access cab.

Looks like it needs tires. Aftermarket parts usually actually wind up narrowing the field of potential buyers quite a bit. I would say this is probably a 23-24k truck at most. I bought a stock 05 double cab 4x4/auto TRD off road package from a Toyota dealer about 2 months ago for $13,800. But it did have 113k on it. I paid 22,500 for my last 05 SR5 access cab 4x4 4cyl brand new.

Waaaay lower. I just bought my 2006 TRD off-road with 50k miles for 18,900..... Granted its two years older, but thats a 9000 dollar difference!!!

21,900 is what i would pay.

The ad says its a TRD Offroad, but the sticker on the side of the vehicle says its a TRD Sport - no ATRAC, no locker (unless original owner installed one aftermarket). Tires do look pretty worn. It does have some nice upgrades though.

If you really are looking for close-to-new, consider the certified used inventory at your local Toyota dealers.

Do you have a budget? Is new out of the question?
