What exactly are you looking for and are you looking in the right place? I don't even own a kayak but can list serveral places to buy racks for them. Go directly to company websites (Thule/Yakima or whoever) pick the rack you like. Google rack dealers, compare prices-buy. It's as easy as that.

Just got a Tracrac G2. Eight bolts on/off, light weight, stylish... About 500.

I was in the same boat as you Wizard, and ended up with the OEM rack and a hitch mounted bed extender (or what ever they are called- it looks like a goal post) from Harbor Freight. $250 total investment, but the OEM rack stays on all the time. The bed extender comes off really easily, and breaks down pretty small for easy storage.

That trac rack is nice, nice truck too. doesnt slide back and forth tho? Looks much better than the ones with the big track that sits on top of the bed rail tho. I wish i could find a black one mine is to shiny haha

You can see the extent of each base in the photo. They can be positioned anywhere along the length of the bed, but they do not slide in use... very solid, I think rated to 800#.

Order the one with the Tacoma mount kit, it's a specific part #30000-04, and the clamps fit into the bed rails of the truck. Be warned that the Tacoma kit comes with the standard clamp screws which are way too long and the close proximity to the bed walls make them a PITA to install, and look way ugly. Order some 1.25"x3/8" stainless steel screws from McMaster Carr for the clamps (8 req'd), and it makes a sweet install and they can be removed in about 10 minutes if desired.

This is absolutely not helpful to you.

I like this one but probably not the best for a kayak.

Have been waiting on all pro to offer free shipping again. Gonna get one for my doublecab. Pretty close to the tubing size as my all pro tube bumper.

I built mine, it is intended to carry canoes or whatever else I put up there. It is at the same height as my factory roof racks.
