I'm looking for a reliable source to buy a transmission+torque converter for my 2006 tacoma v6 4x4 sr5. I have a quote from a seller on marketplace, for 16hundred from the exact truck year and trim style. I'm skeptical of the source so I'm doing some research on this one.

I would call junkyards, they have the ability to find what you are looking for because junkyard owners know other junkyard owners and that can help you sort through all there inventory fast.

I would talk to a local shop about re-building the one you have.

I tried that and it sat with him for 2 months. Saying work load and locating parts was the cause for hold up

LKQ should be able to find one

Pretty hard for any junkyard to warranty a used trans. Yea they might offer a 30 day guarantee but you'll still have to do the job twice

    Good luck

Predator tube steps, Ranch Hand grill guard, Magnaflow CatBack exhaust, Toyota tool box & bed mat, 2LO Module by @Up2NoGood, Rearview Compass/Temp Mirror, Tune by @JustDSM.
Auto V6 4x4 would be the A750F transmission.

So my friend talked me into doing the rebuild (he's the mechanic, I wrench out of necessity). Any suggestions on master rebuild kits? Also suggestions on torque converters?
