well, i am looking for a great bolt action .22 rifle.

i was dove hunting yesterday. ZERO birds, so my friend pulls out this ancient .22 rifle, and a huge box of ammo. with plain old vanilla iron sights, we were zapping soda cans way out there. it was so fun, i and bet we burned up $5 bucks of ammo. i have forgotten how much fun it is to shoot a .22.

now i want one!! i've been out of the game for awhile. looking at gun broker, the m34 gets kinda pricey.

any modern and GREAT bolt action .22's out there?

You can find some at pawn shops. I picked up a mod 34 nra target for $69 without the redfield peep sights which took me a year to find the right sight on ebay. Any of the 510,511,512 and 514's are the easiest to find for thr the money. Marlin bolt actions have lower price range.
