I've had Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires on my last three Chevy 2500HD trucks. I love these tires, especially ON ICE! They were like having tank treads.

According to the website they don't make them in 16's so I am looking for something similar. Does anyone know how the Duratrac tires compare to the Silent Armors on ice or snow?

    TIA

I have owned a couple of sets of both. Duratracs are much more aggressive. Off road they are a lot better. On road they are a lot worse. I always hated the Duratracs on a slippery surface, wet or icy road.

You should just go get some 17" wheels.

I think I have settled on my new tires. The Goodyear SA's aren't available in 16" rim so I can't get my favorite tire. I wanted to try the Goodyear Authority but there isn't a Walmart Tire Center within 20 miles of my house, bummer. My third/fourth choice were BFG KO2's and the Duratrac. Honestly I like the GY tires but I think I am leaning towards the BFG's. Two reasons, I have read from many people that the Duratrac's are much noisier than the KO2's and Costco has them in stock with a rebate starting on the 28th.

So, I will wait two more weeks and then get the KO2's and hope they turn out to be good tires. I'll post back with updates.
