Hey y’all. I’m looking for a very specific tuner for my Taco (Jessie). I’m pretty unfamiliar with tuners, and have done a bit of research but I can’t seem to find what I want. What I’m wanting is a tuner, where from in my cab, I can select different tune options (SPECIFICALLY, separate tunes for: Fuel Efficiency, Sport/Performance, Towing/Hauling, and an option to turn the tuner off, to go with the stock performance). I’m guessing, given my very specific tunes I want, that I’m probably looking at a custom unit. Money isn’t a huge factor, I’m looking for quality and specifics. Can someone please either give a link (if you’re awesome and are willing to spend the time/effort), point me in the right direction, or know of a (quality) tune shop or website or something that can create/install something like this? I live in Central Oregon, so preferably somewhere in that vicinity but I can travel a bit if I need to. Any help is greatly appreciated. I’m still debating if I’m doing this at all, but I want to see what I’m looking at if I do go through with it. Respectfully, I’m not looking for opinions on if I should do it or not; I’ll most likely make another post once I have all my info I need asking for opinions. Thank you.

I don't believe there is an option for these trucks of a bully dog type tuner where you can select on the fly or atleast none that i've seen. Forewarning with those as my experience as a mechanic is that usually they just trick the ecm into thinking the coolant temp is cooler than it is and/or increase throttle sensitivity. It's not what you're looking for but may I ask why you don't want a tune just uploaded to your truck? Most tuners will flash you back to stock with no qualms.

(Full disclosure i'm a tuner for these trucks but also located in Alberta, Canada so am not trying to get a sale from you)

OTT, and KDMax tunes have a two tune to them. One with tune at all times and another when ect is pushed. Also when in s drive it locks out overdrive for towing.

Good to know! Do you know what the difference is between the “normal “ tune and the “ECT button tune” ?

YotaWerx Blackhawk 2.0 tuned. Typer Auto tail light guards. Rough Country tri-fold tonneau cover. Start-X remote starter. Injen CAI. MBPR Armor Plus high clearance exhaust.
VF Tuner (the software we use to flash tunes to these trucks) does have support for a multi-tune option based on combinations of 4LO, the ECT button, and the shifter position, but I don't think I've seen anyone take the time to bake a tune for each of the combinations (I believe there are 7 or 8 total). I think that's as close as you will get to what you are looking for on these trucks. Otherwise, the best you can do is a throttle enhancer like the Pedal Commander or Sprint Booster, but they are only actually adjusting throttle sensitivity. They do nothing with shift schedules, air/fuel mixture, MAF frequency, VE tables, etc. What you want would be a complete ground up process, likely costing many thousands of dollars, since it would require developing both the tunes and the device to manage them, if it's even possible.

For Kdmax essential it the "ect" tune will bump you up throttle response and restrict the gears to 4 unless you shift higher

This, same with OTT tune. My throttle is light normal, and medium with ect. Choices are light, mild, medium, and spicy. With these tunes shift points are changed and so much smoother, and no more gear hunting. World of difference, compared to stock.
