Looking for a Street Legal cheap motorcycle

id prefer a 1980's-90's xr/xt dual sport, or a chitty twin cyl. kawai ex or similar...Just anything to satisfy my winter garage time hoonigan building/bobber chop cycle project.....

Budget is $1,000 or cheaper depending on the bike....must have a good title so i can ride it to work when the project is done spring time.

Buddy of mine has a 93(?) Yamaha FZR600 in his garage that he'd let go pretty cheap ($500 probably). He says it leaks a decent amount of oil and that's why he parked it.

LMK if you're interested, I'll bug him for some pics and specs.

What made me think of it is a friend picked up a 2016 Husquvarna 300
2-stroke for a great deal but he drove to Pheonix to get it.

 

one of my favorite sub 1k bikes was the Suzuki Bandit (GSF600S/GSF1200)

 

saw one for like 1500 the other week....killer bike for the $ they are asking these days...had an old oil cooled gsxr1100, pretty much same bike and insurance is like $100 a year....hahahhaaha
