Long story short, I won an award at work where they give me $1k to have some kind of adventure. I already asked for the cash for truck parts or guns, but that isn’t in the “spirit” of the award. So, looking for ideas, anything in AZ but also willing to travel to nearby states if it’s cool. I’d like to take the wife along. So far, I saw a helicopter ride and tour of a mine on four peaks, or a forging class in camp verde. Anyone else on here know if any cool adventures? Must be kind of PC, I already asked about hog hunting from a helicopter in TX and that was a no no.

In the taco? Come to southwest Colorado! There's plenty of good offroad opportunities like black bear road and the alpine loop.

Good idea. I will see if they will fund a road trip.

Not a bad idea. I used to work at a scout camp on the island, but it has been many years. Might be time for a return trip.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions so far. I have the question out for funding a road trip. If I go that route, maybe I can toss in some gear I will “need” for the trip. Truck parts might be back on the menu if I can get that idea approved.

the falls don’t work like that.

Use it to to partially finance the Alcan 5000. My dad did that race a few times on his motorcycle but they have a 4x4 class that you could run. It's time-speed-distance so it's not a true race in the traditional sense but still a lot of fun. Or since you're in AZ maybe the Mexican 1000?

Do a multi-day rafting trip. Grand Canyon if possible. The best feeling of remote camping off the river!
