Looking for a way to deter theft of diode dynamics pods, the pods are secured with standard bolts/nuts and easy for theft. I found a video on YouTube but this solution is only for the mount and not the light itself. Anyone have a solution they use for these lights?

I went with square anti tamper nuts and anti tamper torx. So far so good.

I guess I don’t know how you’re mounting yours, but mine are in ditch light brackets. I don’t remember the specs but I can take a pic if you want.

I'm also in NC. Live in NC and travel all over NC. I've got $1200 worth of lighting hanging off my GX. Not once have I ever thought it would get messed with.

If this is a legitimate concern of yours I would forgo any aftermarket lightning that is exposed in anyway.

if it gets any worse, were going to need a 3 phase 480V plug to electrify our entire trucks.

That's why when I install things that can be easily taken I do my best to deter thieves. These pods aren't cheap.

this thread reminds me of "security" lug nuts for wheels: useless. thieves who want to steal your wheels or ditch lights know exactly how to bypass these "security" products. if you are so worried about your ditch lights getting stolen I would either, A: not get $300 ditch lights, B: figure out an actual solution rather then buying useless security nuts and bolts. If I was to do it myself, I would drill a hole in one of the heat sink fins, pass thru a thin locking cable, and attach the cable to the bolt the brackets are screwed in. maybe put some heat shrink on the cable if its bare metal. even then, the thief is one step away from cutting the cable to get the lights, its all really useless in the end. just pray and hope the thief doesnt damage your car on purpose once he realizes you wasted his time. good luck!

Too late. You already got robbed by paying $400 for LED lights.

If they want them they will get them but it don't hurt to slow them down and hopefully saving your items.

Security torx and security nuts for the bigger mounting bolt. Fill them with epoxy or JB weld if you really hate the world.

Double nut the bolts with torque prevailing nuts.
