Im looking to buy my woman a camera for christmas. She is not huge into photography but how big can you be into it when all you have is a cell phone camera? But she knows she likes it because her dad is into it. We have been looking into cameras and we like the sony alpha a6000 for the features but damn at the price tag. The best I can find is around $630 are there any other mirror less options that have the same number of features and same quality for less dough or is the 630 price point pretty much average. I dont mind the price too terribly much but when I started looking for her a camera I figured a reasonable price of about 450 and had a bit of sticker shock with the a6000 price. Are there any options that are the same quality or better than the a6000 at the same price point or less?

Look at the Nikon AW1 camera. Interchangeable lense and water/shock/dirt proof for your adventures.

The Sony cameras have quite a following right now and actually are doing pretty well at their price points. Mirrorless will be expensive for a while. It's new, light, small.

You can get some DSLRs at the same price too. So depends a lot on your plans with it. You may not need the Mirrorless camera.

Got the a6000 on best buys website Wednesday night for $549. That's the best price I have seen by far.

I have both an A6000 and Nikon D3200. I use the Sony when I need more portability but I find I take better pictures with the Nikon.

That is a pretty good deal. You'll have fun with that camera.

Can't wait to give it to my woman on Christmas. She really really wants a camera. She has no idea I got it for her.
