I’ve got a screwy question in hopes somebody might know. I’m headed to get a topper tomorrow for my ExtCab 1st gen. The temptation is that he also has another topper that’s for the double cab. Bad part is, my DC 1st Gen is in another state at the moment.

Both toppers are standard height; what are the chances I could somehow fit the double cab topper inside the ExtCab’s bed, before I mount the ExtCab topper? I believe the ExtCab bed is 6’x5’ not including wheel wells, and the DC topper is 5’x5’ but about 2’ tall.

Obviously it would have to go in at an angle. But would it work??? It’s a hell of a drive but I’d be crushed if I had to leave one behind. No, I don't have any buddies available tomorrow to help and tomorrow is the only day I can go for a while.

    Thanks for any (experienced) input!

Ain't going to happen. I had a topper on my 1st gen DC and I dont even think I could have fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood back there.

This is not what I’m wanting to hear; although it’s what I expected to hear. This sucks. Might have to rent a trailer, but that would add up to quick I’m afraid and then not as good of a deal.

Brace the caps to keep from crushing you might be able to haul them both vertical .

side by side you should have enough room .

ratchet straps in a x pattern to the tie downs front and back

If you really want to make just one trip .

Worth a shot. Don’t know that they’d both fit inside of the wheel wells though.
