Saving up for a lift kit for my 2012 DCSB TRD OR. Probably gonna go OME or Bilstein. Afterwards I’d like to put some 285s on it, but I was wondering what wheels would have a nice backspacing for it. I’m only planning on 2 inches of lift, and will be running stock UCAs. Don’t mind if they rub as long as it ain’t on the UCA. Preferably looking for stamped steels in a 6 lug and preferably 17x8 so they work with the brake calipers. Figured this forum could be of help.

Look for a wheel with 4.5 backspace.

    Just 4.5 backspace? I’ve also seen -12mm offset. I’m assuming that’s different

    ^ what @gotoman1969 said.

Backspace directly measures how close the wheel is to the spindle and control arms, so it's the more applicable measurement for you. General rule of thumb, the lower the backspacing the less likely you are to rub on the control arms but more likely you are to rub on the cab mount/fenders.
Good link for offset vs backspacing: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-backspacing-and-offset-info.102992/

285s are a pretty common size: browse through the builds and see what works for you. Here's a collection of wheel/tire sizes.

Welcome to TW: throw any combination of "fitting 285s" into the search bar and you should have reading for days
