CC is a bad idea maybe have a fire sell of stuff laying around the house you no longer use. Another plan perhaps borrow on your 401k interest is low but your paying your self back with interest imho bad idea also.

Mod your truck, then declare bankruptcy so all your problems can go away. Creed Bratton would be proud.

Things like utilities don't count as 'payments'. It's paying for what you consume after you consume it, just like a meal at a diner or filling your tank with gas. There are no penalties, interest or credit score affects attached.

Rent is a choice, and can be a reasonable one in certain circumstances. But it's not a 'payment' either.

Most all of us, when we buy a house, have a mortgage. That's a payment. But even it doesn't need to last as long as signed up for.

Sometimes certain emergencies can create a payment need. A health crisis is the main one that can easily exceed even a robust emergency fund. However, a CC is only a short term bridge for that, as other types of loans are available, for much lower cost, than a CC.

Any CC is the worst (outside of the mob) way to 'finance' anything.

Yes, I have some. Rake in some good rewards too. But they are treated as cash. Can't pay it off the end of this month? Doesn't get bought.

This. Unless there is a financial advantage to using a cc, like a sign up bonus or tons of air miles or something , dont do it. You sound as though you cannot afford this. Truck mods are a poor investment when it comes to returns, or the day you sell the truck. And you admit not being financially informed. Get a bilstien mid series lift and some Dakars if you must, have fun, save $. These trucks are remarkably trail ready off the lot, minus the shit tires.

alright, here's my go to credit cards.

Costco by Citi : 2% back at costco, 3% back at restaurants and travel, 4% fuel cash back
Double Cash by Citi : 2% back everywhere.

However if you're going to just make lump sum purchase of over 5000 here you go get 500 cash back plus 1% on top of that with the Discover Savor card, I used this when buying my Bobcat 250 EFI and got like $550 back collected my moola and downgraded the card to no annual fees.

Sorry just noticed the savor card isn't as good as it was last year. sorry mate

Dave Ramsey still bitter he over leveraged his debt in the past and had to file bankruptcy.

Of course he’s good for those without will power.

This is a great idea. Every month use the bonus to pay off the card, in no time at all the card will be making you money. I wonder why the credit card industry hasn’t figured out this sure fire loophole. I’m in for not just some mods, heck I’m going for the whole shabang.

To be fair, I made $1500 last year and never paid a cent in interest and already racked in $950 this year.

2% back on absolutely every cent I spend minimum. Really helps out with my side hustle.

But in your original post you said you’re bad with money. Do you have the $7000+ to pay off the credit card by the end of the month?

I have a serious addiction problem, but I'm thinking of trying heroin or fentanyl. Looking for recommendations.
