I’m in the process of restoring my ‘02 double cab. Already frame swapped to a rust free frame, and the front half of the truck is pretty rust free. Unfortunately, the bed cannot be saved, so I’m looking for a new box to replace it with. I’m not picky about color, I just need something that’s in better condition than mine. IMG_5808.jpg

You might have some luck posting in this FB group... Could always post a WTB to in classifieds. Though I'm not sure you have enough activity here to do so.

it wouldn’t be too bad of a fix if it was just the panels, but the underside mounts have a decent amount of rust as well and at this point, finding a rust free bed would be better than chasing rust on this one forever

Yeah I’ve lurked here forever to learn about how to restore this truck. Finally decided to make my account to try and ask if anyone had a bed for sale, but I couldn’t post in the classifieds yet because my account wasn’t 30 days old yet.

I think you'll want to do your shopping by the bed length, not the cab type.

At least it appears the truck is driveable until you can find one.

While you can't post in our BST forum yet, you can shop, and if you see something of interst you can send a PM to the seller.

We also have regional forums. You might find one close to you and do some poking around locally, as a bed isn't really something you want to ship.

Ford Truck beds were known for the under side of the bed rusting.

I had fixing them to a science.

You might look around at any local up fitters that build service trucks some places are glad to get ride of the removed beds. When they can not get just the Rolling Chassis .

    Good Luck.

There's a few trucks being parted near us in Illinois. I can probably check on some for you as I'm tracking a oem trailer wiring harness for mine.

That would be awesome man! I’ve called several salvage yards in the relative area, as well as checking car-parts.com, but haven’t found anything worth the swap just yet. I can keep an eye out for a wiring harness for you as well!

Bedside would be more cost effective
Assuming bottom of bed(horizontal rails that bolt to frame) worse?

don’t forget to factor the paint cost….
    Beside is 6hrs -/+
Complete bed would be 12hrs or more

Thats why it’d be awesome to find someone parting out a Lunar Mist metallic truck. But my underside of the bed is also in pretty rough shape, so it’s probably smarter to replace the entire bed than put in all the work patching panels, and then be chasing rust on the underside forever?

    Thanks!

Yeah I've had my eye on there for the last month or more. I live up in the rust belt so anything within relative driving distance from me is very beat up or rusty. I've reached out to some farther places who were unwilling to ship, so I might have to do some cross country traveling in my future.

I found one near me in my PA home, silver in color but they want 1500 for it. I'll check if it's rusted under the flares. I use shiply to ship parts usually pretty cheap too

Oh man, that would be great!! If it’s rust free, that’s still way cheaper than what I was quoted to fix mine! I would really appreciate you checking that out for me!!

Depending on condition……I would jump on that

Right? If I can find one in perfect condition, I ain’t afraid to spend some money. I love this truck that much. I just don’t want to spend money on something that’s still better than mine, but still have to chase rust on it sooner rather than later

    Man,
    I just did some searches
Can’t find anything ….with price listed
    1999-2010
Seeing that your bed is, IMO, pretty rare
    $1500 fair asking price
    Hopefully it’s not bad condition
    Let us know!!!!!
