    Hi folks!
    I'm on my second Tacoma - a 2009 V6 Manual with a 6 ft bed.
My first Tacoma was a 2002 SR5 Manual.

I'm looking to learn more about custom camper build projects.
I'd essentially like to turn my Tacoma into an ultra reliable off-grid tiny home.
I've long contemplated van builds as well, but feel that a 4x4 Tacoma is just a much more practical base than a van.

If you have recommendations for blogs, builders, etc, please let me know!

    Thanks :)

Do you plan to build something to put in the bed of the truck, or to tow behind it? I once converted a 22 foot two-horse gooseneck trailer into a camper that I towed behind my GMC crew cab dually, complete with insulation, interior bead-board paneling, water and septic, 120VAC electrics and heat and AC. And you could still haul horses in it if you wanted.

I have a 5x8 foot V-nose enclosed trailer that I have done some mods to so I can use it both as a cargo trailer like it was intended, or a two person camper. I pull it with my 2011 DCSB Tacoma 4x4. It's much more basic, mainly a secure place to sleep at night. A 5x10 or 6x10 would be much better to do a camper out of. where yoiu could do more built-in stuff. Mine has a set of shelves and a tabletop in the nose that can be assembled without hardware or tools and easily removed for the added space. It is fully insulated, has a crank-out roof vent and fold down bunk, and lights that run off the tow vehicle battery. I got the trailer with double swing-out doors instead of the drop=down ramp door, and made an awning that attaches to the doors to extend the length with the doors opened. I don't have any pictures of the cargo conversion, but here's a couple of the horse trailer.

This is some really nice work you did! The wood work on the interior is excellent.
I'm looking to build something on the truck itself. I have built out a small trailer in the past and I really don't enjoy towing on a regular basis.
I'd really like to do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k_SKjm4di8
I don't have the access to tools, space, or mentors to build it myself, so I'm looking to find someone who could help me build (ideally in New England).

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I’m leaning towards an old ambulance or school bus but this did catch my eye878C1EC2-F166-4791-B80E-2C7800021DC9.jpg

There's a youtube video of a guy building his version...I believe he is a member here also. It's a good how-to....8 parts, and is very informative without being over the top. "Traveling by Tacoma" is his channel.
