    Hey,

I just bought a 2015 Tacoma AC. I don't plan to wheel it hard for the first few years but I like the look of a grill guard until I get a heavy front bumper winch mount.

Can some of you folks post pics of your grill guard on your Taco's?

Brand and approximate cost would be great . If I find a look I like I'll look into buying that model.

    Something like this. [IMG]

    Thanks,

Aries, ranch hand are some brands I've seen used on here. Ranch hand being the better option from what I read online. 5-700 depending on which model you go with.

IIRC there some options out there that have winch mounts but I have no clue If they're reliable

I'll also suggest the search option on this site. there a couple threads similar to this one out there.

    Good luck with your search!

You will mostly get people on here telling you not to put one on as they "increase damage".
I see no problem with one as long as you like the look. But I would not waste the $ on 1 just to have till you save up for a plate bumper. A quality brush guard is a good ways to a plate bumper. Save the $ and buy the bumper.

I interpret that as "you can buy a steel bumper on eBay for $600"

Members claim that a front end collision which would normally only damage the bumper, will now damage much more due to the size of the bush guard. You would most likely need a new hood, lights, grille, and bumper.

Do it once and do it right. Skip the grill guard and save for a bumper if that's your long term plan.

It enhances the damage to other areas that would not normally be damage:

Personally I like my Avid light bar better compared to a grill guard/bull bar. But a plate bumper is on the horizon:

OP, welcome to TW! I like your user name.

I was about to ask if that style causes damage like the bull bumpers. It looks good, but if it gonna cause that kind of damage in a crash its not worth it

Based on that photograph, and the anecdotal number of crashes I've seen comparable to this without a grille guard, I wouldn't say that it was the grille guard that caused the vast damage on that vehicle... Just saying

TSB leafs, weather techs, ram mount, jack&shovel mount, and more to come.
Look at the dents in the horizontal bars. The guy hit a light pole or something. The grill guard didn't magnify that kind of damage or do anything to help.

That style might help with a deer impact though.

What about the ARB? I wouldn't even bother with a grille guard

That doesn't look like a ranch hand grille guard. Aries? Junk from china?
