    Doesn't tail work?

I thought everyone used tail for their switches? For the light bar switch, if the headlight stalk is in off, the switch doesn't light up. If it's in auto, the switch only turns on when the rest of my interior gauges illuminate, i.e. when headlights turn on.

I thought that's what you wanted for the accent lights?

I'll retest TAIL tomorrow during full light just in case. It was 3-4 in the afternoon with the sun towards the tail of the truck. I assume the sensor is on the dash somewhere. It would definitely be easier if TAIL is available for my needs.

If I understand correctly, you're trying to find a source of power that is only on when the headlights are on?

Yeah. Seems TAIL will work. I tested it too late in the day and was testing it too fast. I'll start running wires later this week.

So why not just splice into the headlight, since you only want the interior lights on the when the headlights are on. Seems like the simplest answer. If your LED lights are pulling less than 1-2 amps you can even get away with no relay and wire it headlight>switch>LED strip>ground. If you pulling higher amperage, you can wire it headlight>relay>switch>ground for the control side, and battery>fuse>relay>LED strip> ground for the power side. Same if you were using the TAIL relay.

I finished the install of my accent lights. They turned out nice. They look a little brighter in the pictures, but are perfect in person. I didn't want them to make the whole cab glow. I used some Custom CH4x4 switches and found this info on another thread.

As seen on the CH4x4 switches:
1 Green - Positive from fuse for Device (I used TAIL with an Add-A-Fuse)
    2 Red 1 - Positive to Device
3 Red 2 - Positive for Switch Illumination (Used ILL+ as seen in picture from the bed light found at rear of cab).
4 Black - NEgative (ground) for Switch Illumination (Used ILL- as seen in picture from the bed light found at rear of cab).
(Not Shown) Black - Negative from Device hooked to Ground on vehicle.

The switches are only illuminated when the rest of my dash is. The illumination is 5V, FYI.

Also, the accent lights are only on when the headlights are on because I used the TAIL fuse (thank you to those above for correcting me). I can also switch them off if I don't want them on. This wasn't hard, just time consuming.
