this isn't a *true* high clearance bumper, but it tucks up nicely along the bedsides and offers quite a bit of protection. perhaps worth a look...

oh trust me i want an elite badly, but i simply cant afford one. i do have the resources and time to build something big and hefty and high clearance. i was able to google some but i was wondering if anyone on here has one. im also looking to put a tire carrier on it, but i can handle that design :D

ahh gotcha. i totally understand that sentiment. plus, there just is something cool about stepping back and looking at the finished product when you put your own blood sweat and tears into it!

I cut the fender but i left the corners underneath intact to Give it as much structure as possible. Still have a bit of floppy bedside i will need to brace the bed around the flare.

Also when it comes to the D-tabs just weld them to the bumper or try and tie them into the structure that attaches to the frame? i think that it would be stronger that way. let me know what yall think.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Yeah have them go through the bumper and welded on both sides tied into the mounting plates.

On mine i tied the Shackle mounts into the Frame plate gussets with ballistic shackle mounts (pricey at $23 Ea) Someone on pirate makes them much cheaper but i also ordered a dual optima box:cool:. Most of the bumpers i have seen just have tabs welded to the outside i have yet to see one fail, but i never want to have to fix it. And a well built bumper sells for higher when you want to do something different later.
