Yesterday I came out to find that someone had hit my truck while parked and its looking like the front bumper and some other parts are going to need replaced (still waiting on my insurance adjuster to come look at it). It got me thinking that now may be the time to get the off roading winch bumper that was on my list for next year but everything I am looking at has an 8-12 week lead time. Anyone have a recommendation for a decent quality, in stock, full width bumper that is winch compatible ?

The rear bumper also got smashed up a bit and depending on what they have to do to fix that I may replace it as well at this time. I figure I might as well make the most out of this since I have to pay my $500 deductible.

You won't find a lot of the ones in stock on this forum. Most of those bumpers that are in-stock are going to be something purchased from 4 wheel parts because they have warehouses that house them. The front bumper: Honeybadger was pretty popular on here for 3rd gen tacos at the beginning before the little shops started making bumpers. It's identical to what little shops have, design-wise. I bought a different front bumper from 4 wheel parts because when I got my truck, pretty much everyone was still in the prototype phase. If I were to do it again, I would have waited and bought from the little guys. It seems like the quality control is lacking from those that supply 4 wheel parts and customer service is almost non-existent.
I had to modify my bumper a bit cause the holes weren't lining up and when I called the company that makes them, I got no help.

Buy once, cry once. Be patient and get what you really want. It’ll be much better than getting a cheap bumper.

correct me if im wrong but if you plan on adding a bumper and wench you will need to add some stiffer front suspension springs.

A multi-week wait time seems to be the cost of doing business in the aftermarket performance parts market. I waited 3 months for my sliders. Currently I am shopping for skids and I’ve decided to get the TRD Pro skid because it’s in the same price/quality range and will take only a week to ship to me. I’m still debating whether to order transmission and transfer case skids from a fab shop to complete my under armor.

    What? More like the minority.

Maybe you mean CBI...everyone seems to have a CBI

No Honeybadger, CBI was and still does have a lead time. Honeybadger was the most popular when it came to in-stock bumpers.

You can still buy that one and others on 4wheelparts, but none of them are exactly what I want. For example, none of the rear bumpers have a hitch receiver. I’m pretty sure I’ll be waiting a long time for my bumpers.

Ya, I was just replying to the other guy. He thought I meant CBI instead of Honeybadger as the popular bumper. I think there was just a bit of confusion, cause I was talking about in-stock bumpers and Honeybadger was definitely the most popular one in that category.
CBI is/was popular w/ the built to order ones.

I knew what you were talking about. I was just adding a personal anecdote.

Well anyway; this is my rig w/ in-stock front bumper from 4 wheel parts: picture is what the shop sent me since they are working on it right now getting my sliders installed and re-gearing so I am not in the picture. For my offroading (high speed runs), I hardly see rock crawling, but trees are what I am worried about now.

I removed my bed rack and track boards, but that is pretty much what I ran with for a year.

I may just go ahead and have them fix everything in the front and go back to plan A which was doing the front bumper next year. I don't have 8-12 weeks to wait on getting my truck fixed as its my daily driver.

Agree to disagree, been on this forum since the 3rd gen and few people have it or talk about it. Can’t reasonable conclude popularity over a lack of content.

Hmmmm... when I google searched "honeybadger Tacomaworld" it had a pretty good amount of hit COMPARED to other 4 wheel parts bumpers.

Lol agree to disagree. Seems like you know what is popular so can you help the OP out? What is a popular front bumper that is held in-stock w/ no lead time?

Will insurance even pay for that?

    This.

Any quality fab shop is going to have a lead time unless you get lucky like I did when I ordered through Erick.

Yes, insurance cut me a check for the cost of repairing the rear bumper and I used the money to buy a used C4 Fabrications bumper from a TW member local to me. Now to install it and not have to worry about some little old lady with a shopping cart totaling my truck when she runs into the rear bumper with it.
