Looking for my first Tacoma

    I live in Colorado and love the outdoors, especially hiking and landscape photography. Pretty much have been everywhere a sedan can get me in the region, now need a 4x4 to further explore places with a better ground clearance vehicle. I have decided on a USED (preferably under 100k miles) Toyota Tacoma v6 4x4 2dr long bed is the vehicle I want, preferably in blue, and hope to add a Topper EZ Lift shell as part of a "camper conversion" build. Not interested in spending more than $20-25k total, while looking to buy in the autumn when some financial things will be better aligned. Willing to travel anywhere in North America for a good deal for the one I want to be my primary driver hopefully for many years to come.

    Been thinking about a small pickup truck (like a Tacoma, Ford Ranger, or Nissan Frontier types of style) for a couple years now with serious research on lots of model years and configurations, but most of all the overwhelming great feedback from people I know or met who have any of them, Tacoma seems the best for what I am looking for in a quality vehicle.

    Any suggestions on things to watch out for, or maybe a model year or style to avoid in the lineage of Tacoma is appreciated. Any leads on some of the better camper conversion kits be helpful and appreciated as well.

    They stopped making 2dr tacos a few years ago.
    Check the frame for corrosion on any used one you look at.
