looking for new body. d7000 vs d300s

    d300 has more fps with the battery pack but mostly I was suggesting the d300 to offset the cost of the battery pack.

    Dude, D7000! I just read an article about the future release of it and almost jizzed my pants! I'm still using the D80 and have been waiting for the next model after the D90...here it is! I did not expect it to have all the features it does...definitely worth it. Shit, it's only $1200 for all the technology it comes with!

    Personally, when comparing the D7000 to my D80, it's an instant HELL YES I'LL TAKE THE D7000!

    EDIT:

    btw, I doubt you will need the battery grip once you get the D7000...so then, later down the road, you can just buy one if you ever get serious about doing portraits and whatnot ;).

    The battery grip is more personal preference. I still don't have a battery grip for my 5D Mark II even though that's my portrait body (and I have a grip for the 7D). I've got other equipment that I could spend that $200 on instead (another strobe, C-stand, etc). It's not a big deal to chicken-wing in vertical with a non-gripped body. Example:
