Looking for NorCal group / club - putting together a meet in August

How is it going everyone?

I have a 2015 PreRunner and I am looking for a NorCal club/group to hang out with.

Looking to have fun, swap ideas, learn some things, go on destination cruises/drives, light off road trailing, and to meet some new friends.

The club could consist of all Tacomas or a mix of Tacomas, FJs, 4Runners, or the like

I used to be part of a large NorCal scion group back in the day that I helped start with 6 original members. Enjoyed the cruises down to the Bay Area and around California, car shows and meets, mod days, charity event, and the like. Stopped after too much racing, fights with other car clubs, police and just poor behavior and habits amoung the members. The club lost its routes and purpose.

Team NVS "North Valley Scions" and we also hung with Scion Evolution

 

I know both groups.
I was a member in 2006 of NorCal Scikotics and left in 2008 or so when the Wine Country chapter opened in my immediate area. Sold the car and ditched the scene.

Had a 2006.5 xB and later an 2006.

 

That's cool. We may have crossed paths. I had a 2004 xB and later a 2006 tC. Sold the tC back in late '07 and left the scene. Sometimes miss events like J's Car Gathering in Japantown, SF, Scion Nights, and Scion Exposed.

Love having a truck though; kayaking, driving over speed bumps without the fear of scraping, Home Depot runs, ...the possibilities.

 

Possibly! I ran around a bit at the local shows but never made it to the larger events. Other than club meets I only remember a show at Tracy Toyota.

Do you recall Evil Dave or James with the bosozoku yellow xB?

 

I attended some events at Tracy Toyota and other dealerships in the Bay Area. We also did some shows like Import Motion when it still came to Sacramento.

I do remember Evil Dave and his diamond plate everything. He was a cool guy. Talked to him at every show and meet. There was also a girl named Shelby with a custom green Turtlewax sponsored xB. So many cool people and fun times. Too bad for the spoiler people.

 

No kidding. Maybe we crossed paths. Cool.

Never had any issues with people, most of the crowd I was around were single middle aged folks trying to be young or younger people my age (now 30), but all were having fun.

Awesome.

I want to set something up for any NorCal folks from Chico to the Bay Area. There are so many cool places to see around California. I was thinking a a nice drive to a beach, lake, or forest type destination. Maybe some light trailing and a BBQ or cool food spot.

Who is up for something NorCal Tacoma peeps?

 

Me but my schedule is pending crazy.

Thanks for the info. I saw those as well, but l this will not be a mod day or just a meet and greet. I am trying to make it to those as well though.

Looking to meet up with folks, then head out somewhere, and then food spot.

 

What Saturdays in August are best for everyone?

I will post a possible place to meet and and then drive to as a food for though soon, but if anyone has a suggestion, I am open.

 

beach, lake, forest type of spot? Sounds like you want to go on one of our standard trips, but none of them interest you.

So perhaps you could pick a location, a date, and organize it in a new thread?
