    Hey Everyone!

My wife and I are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary with a new CVT Mt. Shasta RTT on the Tacoma and we are going to take 11 days to go SOMEWHERE in early September. We have a ton of experience with backpacking and cold weather camping so that part isn't a concern for us. I am looking for suggestions to get off the beating path and get really as remote as we can while also camping on the truck. I have this vision of driving the truck somewhere remote and just plopping open the tent and enjoying the wilderness. We likely will also do some campsites as well.

We are based in Charlotte, NC, and aren't afraid of driving far off. We were considering Maine but would love to hear some suggestions if anyone has any ideas?

I would check this out. I think the website was originally intended towards dual sport motorcycles, but I've known people to explore it in tacomas too. As far as I know it's all fireroads/trails so you'd get a lot of time away from civilization.

This weekend we went to check out the Scales campground in Virginia. It is @ 45 minutes north of Boone. Planning to head back in August, ourselves.
