Yes, they are pricey but if you have a real use for them, they are invaluable. It is the options that add up. I think you can get a basic 100R for like $800 without a carpet interior and stuff. Not much more than a bestop.

For my uses, a cap is required and is considered in the cost of the truck.

Yeah, the last cap I priced w/ the frameless rear/side windows, fold down inside window, cap/cab seal was about 2k. I think I would rather have the best top, and keep my undercover, than get a crappy looking cap.

See, adding those options is where the price skyrockets. That 100XL doubled in price with the options.

If you are going to be taking the Bestop on and off regularly you might be better with the SofTopper. The side windows on the Bestop are a pain to deal with during installation.

Options alone were about half the price of the whole topper. Maybe someday, I do like the Bestops. I've never really heard about the SofTopper, Ill have to look into that.

Billy's @ .85 w/ Eibachs front, TSB w/ 5100's rear + 1.5" AAL & shims, Debadged, Avid Bolt On Sliders, NFab Light Bar w/ (2) Lightforce 170's. Weathertechs, ATO bed bars.
My wife hasn't noticed my 2.5" lift (billies/eibach), or N-Fab light bar but when the Lightforce 170's show up next week she'll notice them.

To her credit, she did notice the Sliders and WeatherTech floormats:D

Good choice with the 4x4, I traded my 05 AC prerunner trd OR w/ toytec 3" and 285/70/17 for my 07 DC TRD sport 4x4 in 07. I'm slowly adding things to it over time. The wife doesn't mind a few hundred at a time...;)

Congrats on the new truck... Maybe I'll see you at URE. I did the same thing you did except I went backwards... I traded my 2010 Doublecab Prerunner TRD Offroad for a 08 access cab SR5 4x4 6 spd

URE is on my to-do list, but with a 2.5 month old son, free time to head off into the woods is few and far between.
