I'm planning to finally buy sliders soon and I'm pretty set on flat sliders with the kick out, but from the couple pics I've seen of high-angled sliders, I kind of really like the look. So I'm debating which direction to go. I'm looking for pictures to compare looks of the up-angled sliders. I haven't seen any decent pics of high angled sliders on a 3rd gen Tacoma...does anyone actually make them? Post pics if you guys have any or can find any please. Thanks!

Wait, so are you getting sliders based on looks?

If you need them as steps--you're short, your wife/children need them, etc, then get step sliders. If not, get angled/high clearance sliders.

I believe 20 degrees are the steepest/closest to the cab seen around here, although I could be wrong.

Sure post them pls I would appreciate it!

Well, there's more functionality for flat sliders than that, as I thought you could only get a rear kickout with flat sliders, but not angled ones. Also, just to make sure you're aware, if I want to do ANYTHING to my truck based on looks, I'm totally cool with that (and I don't care if you aren't). Thanks for your input!

You can definitely get kickouts on angled sliders. Virtually every fab shop makes them with that option.

Oh I see that now, learned something new! I was hoping to get from Mobtown Offroad because they have some additional features to theirs that not everyone else has, and they're close enough I could drive there to avoid shipping costs, but I didn't see an angled up option for them. I'll have to start searching the well known fabs to find who does angled and who doesn't. I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm fabricators that do angled sliders with kickout and ships across US.

there was a recent attempt to get all this info in one place more or less. i don't think there's much talk of the angle... but maybe worth a check: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-slider-cost-comparison.568072/

Most shops come angled at 20 degrees by default. Its when you start to go "flatter" that you need to special order. For instance, I had BAMF do 10 degrees to function somewhere in between a flat step and a tucked slider

That's awesome! I want someone to do the same thing but for every primary exterior aftermarket part list. Sliders, roof racks, bumpers, etc. Thanks for the post. You're right though, nothing about angled.

Really? I thought most do flat by default. Most I've seen with rear kickout were flat (or rather, flat-looking...), which is why I wasn't sure if angled ones could get kick out (which I now know is not accurate).

flat ones do not provide as much clearance as angled ones. offroad can be, and often is, all about clearance.

I find these pics of Jeep sliders that are so high they're hugging the body. Has anyone seen something this angled for a Tacoma before?

There frame is basically right there so having that high of a pitch won't matter. Id bet if we were to angle higher you would need the supports lower on the frame to account for such a drastic angle. But then everything else comes into play. Etc etc.

I believe the ones from Caliraised are at like 25 degrees.

leave a little room for cab/chassis flex, but i really like the functional slider look over the step slider look

Angle is a weird thing. The max angle is based on where you place the sliders on the frame. No matter where they are vertically attached, the top of the hoop can’t go above the bottom edge of the door.

Those steep looking sliders on Jeeps are a function of the door being high above the frame and the sides of the truck being straight (vertically).

Thanks for the info, didn't think about those variables.
