I'd also try putting a WTB on the 3rd Gen Auto Parts forum, just in case someone isn't looking here, or if they are in a different part of California / Nevada that you can drive to.

Isn’t RSI amongst the best truck caps?

Yes, there are a couple threads in this forum where people bash the RSI, and it definitely has problems. But there is another thread comparing RSI, RLD, Alu-Cab where the consensus seems that there’s no perfect canopy — RSI has a larger breakable surface, crappy latches, leaks, and steel (more weight); RLD is heavy, has no sliding window, is pricey; AluCab has no positive pressure system, no sliding window, crappy latches, but nice nut slots and cheaper accessories… so I don’t know what’s good.

Looking to switch up my setup from a mid height bed rack with clam rtt to a shell with wedge rtt. I had a leer shell in the past and it cracked over time so looking for something not fiberglass. Plus I like the small windows on the side for the pup

There’s a diy thread for a camper similar to GFC and I thought about it for awhile but I don’t have all the tools/space and honestly mine probably wouldn’t turn out all that well lol

I recommend looking at the “RSI SmartCap 6 month review” thread. Good to know what you’re buying beforehand. Don’t mean to imply they’re crap, but this thread lists problems and potential solutions. I think they’re the best amongst the choices I’ve seen.

For sure man, thanks for your concern! Yeah I've been hearing a lot about how shitty their locks/latches are, hopefully that will get sorted out soon. I like how the cap is slightly taller than the cab. This should hopefully allow room for bed flex because I'd be mounting a wedge rtt to it. I've been slowly sifting through the Smart Cap thread but there's over 100 pages haha
