    They are very solid(holds my weight 240lbs.). They are 6" wide and fit up tight to the truck and still stick out 2.5 from the doors for ding protection. They are flat black paint with are rubber tread pad on the top surface. Very simple to install, just remove plastic caps that are inserted in the threaded holes and install bolts that are included. Great for preventing slush and salt from splashing up.
