Funny. I have that same policy. I've also added "no driving of any vehicle that requires plugging in to electrical outlet."

I think you're fine. 26k of debt is really not THAT bad - especially if you have two sets of income coming in the door each month. Obviously, 3 kids does put a spin on things... but you will be fine. Most people get so worked up over debt when all you gotta do is grind it out, whether it is 100k or 10k of debt. Just be smart about budgeting every month and good luck OP!

They call him a Real Man. He hasn't cleaned the dirt from his fingernails in 13 years, he has never asked where something is in Home Depot, and he can bench press 450. He's a REAL MAN and he drives a ridgeline with DISC BRAKES to stop all the women he carries in his BIGGER BED. He's a ridgeline owner. Oorah...

This is smart. It's VERY likely that your 401k is outperforming the interest you are paying on your vehicle loans. Cancelling 401k contributions to pay off a low % car loan may make you feel better but won't better your finances long term.

Minivans rule. That is fact if you have kids. Anyone that argues otherwise has never had one. My wife traded her Sienna for a Highlander and we all miss it.

Because you don't know what you will miss until you no longer have it. My wife got all enamored with the Highlander but no SUV can do a minivan justice not even a full size SUV can compete. We will probably get another one soon.

Kicking the can down the road won't help him in the end. If you do the math with dividends and reinvesting, his contributions will add up to far more than the interest on 4 years of car loan. OP clearly isn't hurting THAT badly if he can pay off 15k debt this year and have the taco paid off within a year. You cant be so debt-averse, you need to leverage low interest rates to spread your cash flow to higher dividend-earning programs.

What liquid asset I can get a Fixed return of more than 3.25 %? The market returns 20% on some years and -40% on others. Sure in the long run it's 8%, but every month I have a fixed interest expenses that aren't going to vary and aren't subject to risk.

Plus, I don't like owing people money. I have been a debt-free individual for most of my life. Debt free until I went back to school 5 years ago (new student loan) and then bought a brand new car last year. I don't like this feeling at all.
