I've been thinking about installing a small system in my DC. Im looking to keep the stock HU and Im not looking for alot of bass. Id like to put the sub under the rear driver seat and the amp under the driver seat. The problem is I dont know any of the brands of subs, boxes and amps. If anyone can recommend a decent setup, that wont break the bank, that wiuld be great.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm doing the same thing and having it all installed on Thursday this week. I have 6.5" components going in the front and standard 6.5's going in the rear. A 4 + 1 amp will power them and 10" sub and enclosure behind the rear seats. You'll also need a line out controller plus all the cableing. I'm having all alpine equipment installed only because I've had them before. I know there are better options available. Either way it's gonna cost about $1200 if that helps.

@3coma what sub and box are you going with? I am just looking to do the sub and amp, not looking to change out the door speakers.

The sub is an Alpine SWS- 10D2 which is $130. The installer is building the box. Crutchfield sells a sub/box combo with the same speaker for like $225 I wanna say. Just put your vehicle in their site and it should come up.

Not sure if oem audio makes a kit for the 2nd gen but their 3rd gen kit looks almost as though it could have been stock. It's pricey though
