Hello, I am about to buy my first truck and do an engine swap right away. I wish to go single turbo 2jz-gte. I was hoping to find a build thread or two that I can research what is involved, and what to purchase so I can do the swap quickly. I want to complete it in just a couple days if possible. Thanks !

I hope you have a lot of $$$ to toss at this project. If you are going to use a 2j from a Lexus GS/is and turbo that remember that it's not the same as a 2j from a Supra. It's not a simple bolt in. A lot of wiring exhaust modification so I hope you can weld. I'm only saying all this as I put a 1jz in a 88 Supra and it was a big undertaking as this engine was never offered in the states.

On the other hand if you have to coin and skills I'd suggest using the search button. Look on google and YouTube. These engines have been put into many different makes so I'm sure there is pleanty of info out there if you go digging for it.

I've done a few swaps but never with a 2jz before. I am excited to try it. I heard that it will fit somewhat easily, if using pre-made engine mounts. CX racing sells the mount for less than $500 to bolt in the engine. I am having trouble finding the automatic trans crossmember though, might need to make that. As for exhaust, I expect to spend 500-1000 getting something fabbed up. I can weld but I do not own a tig welder which is how I want the exhaust made, for the most part. I will be using the OEM computer and OEM trans computer.

What car are you getting the engine/trans from? You can look on driftmotion.com for some parts. They are mainly for Supras but have a lot of misc parts worth looking at.
