I had a 2015 Sierra and it was in the dealership 15 times in the first year for recalls and problems.

Some were small issues and others were large.

The thing that made me get rid of it was after having it into the shop and up on the hoist and seeing the whole frame rusted and starting to rot. Every weld seam, cross member and brace was pure rust. Looks like someone parked it in the ocean.

And this was at the 9500 mile mark. I purchased the truck in June and found the issues with the frame the following September.

Gm dealer told me they would fix it.

I took it in and they had their tire guy spray paint over the rust. It looked like it had polkadots all over the frame. On top of labels and decals and half assed.

So I called gm head office and they said it's just how it is and to deal with it...

Just letting you know that the 2014-17 gm trucks have frame issues and a tsb for it.

Not saying that you should choose the Tacoma because I hate my auto Trd sport. Love the truck, hate the transmission

Know whats cool about owning a new F150? You'll get more from the recycling yard for it if you total it. Just add it to the beer cans.

    Wait...Santa' not real?!?!?!

When I merge onto the freeway and I know it's going to be tight and I need some ummfff. I toss it into manual mode, down shift to a gear that puts me in that 4k rpm range and do what needs to be done. Once on the freeway I toss it back into auto and go on about my day.

I live in Houston so you have to be able to go when it's time to move. This method has always worked for me and never put me in a spot where I fell unsafe or like the ass slowing traffic.

    Just to update on this...

I went back to the dealership to try the MT. There was an unbelievable difference...so unbelievable that I asked to drive an AT again just to make the side-by-side comparison on the same day. So I hop into the AT and realize the first truck I drove a couple weeks ago was nothing like either of these trucks. Turns out the AT from a couple weeks ago was actually in one of their bays for repair.

I'm glad to find out the performance of the auto is much better than I initially tested.

Hard to compare full size vs. midsize. They are not really the same market. Depends of what you need your truck to do.

Indeed. The new Titan (gas, non-xd) is very nice. I test drove the crewcab and it's a fun truck. The MPG is on par with Tacoma (maybe even slightly better) which is impressive for a V-8.

    If going full-size Tundra's 5.7 and Titan's 5.6 V-8 are hard to beat.
