LOL @ the 15-year old who speaks/writes well, and isn't engaging any of the people poking fun at him for potentially being spoiled. Really though, what does it matter how his vehicle was obtained?

I went to high school with some extremely rich kids, all with fancy new cars, and none of the ones who were my friends were inconsiderate, or worked any less hard for the things they wanted. Hell, one girl had her parents tell her that they were going to buy her first house for her after college. She is one of the sweetest people I know, and spends the majority of her time abroad doing humanitarian work.

Sometimes parents just want to treat their kids.

Aww man, that's silly. Can't worry about that though, do you man. Never going to be able to keep up with the Jones'. Congrats on a sweet ride, especially at your age. I would say start by making it clean inside and out. Any scratches, blemishes, fogged headlights? Take care of that stuff first. Give it a good wash, clay and wax. Take your time and you'll be surprised what a difference it makes. Inside give a really good cleaning, wipe everything down, be super meticulous. Take the seats out and vacuum where you can't normally get to. Get yourself a good smelling air freshener. Maybe pick up some cheap dividers for the center console and glove box. Honestly man, in my opinion, big tires, lifts, lights, bumpers, sliders, they all can look awesome but its a spendy hobby to get into for sure. And, theres just something about having a really clean vehicle, shows you take pride in the things you own. I've known a lot of people with much nicer cars than my own but as soon as you get in them they're trashed. Says something about the person. Also, don't overlook things like a good tow rope, ratchet straps, a decent tool kit, flashlight, nice knife...things that might actually be useful to you if you're ever in a situation. Start small and slow and build as you can. Its about the journey ya know? Good Luck :thumbsup:

Try color matching the grille emblem.

I went to the "rich, private school" growing up. There are the parents that spoil their kids, parents that want the best for their kids (as you described), and there are parents that teach their kids how to work hard and earn the things they have. I remember several of my friends worked for one of their parent's landscaping business. They all busted their asses over summer and occasionally on weekends. By senior year, all of them were able to pay for their own trucks, dirt bikes, other "toys," and college applications.

Sure, but she still chooses to help others. Plenty of people wouldn't bother with that.

And I'm sure there are plenty that would love to help others but can't afford that luxury . They would do it in a heart beat but they gotta pay the bills

Right. My point was that being spoiled or having parents buy vehicles for their kids doesn't necessarily translate to people being shitty human beings or being unappreciative.

If you heat them up-gently-most of them peel right off. All my nameplates came off with no damage to the paint after a little goo gone. The stickers were even easier.....

Quintin, it sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders and even though some here may be jealous, you don't seem to be the type to squander away generosity.

In my opinion, the best mods are the ones that don't devalue the truck and extend the life of it. If you can manage to drive that same truck for the next 15 years, then that's 15 years of your life where you don't have a car payment -- and the money saved can go into your retirement or saved up towards your dream car.

Stay away from plastidip, HID headlight kits, and shoddy electrical mods that run wire all over the damn truck.
