I have come into a 1984 Toyota Pickup 4x4 22r that is....rough to say the least. Its been rotting away in a driveway for about 6 years. Prior to that it was running and had some prior mechanical and body work done.

A project like this is way outside of my knowledge, but I do have some money to throw at it. I'm located in Charlotte and wondering if anyone is familiar with someone in the area who is experienced and would want to take on the project. Closer the better given that it will need to be towed to wherever it ends up at.

Thanks! This was my grandpa's truck he bought brand new in 1984 so it has a lot of sentimental value too!

That’s awesome!!! Being an original owner of an 86 It will be time we’ll spent, these trucks are so simple to work on if you decide to do some of the mechanical stuff yourself. This truck will definitely be worth all the time and money you put into it!!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Figure out what your budget is. I would attempt to try and do as much work as you can yourself

Having done several of these vintage Trucks as one gets started the expenses can really add up fast.

Look into Greg's Restorations, they're based out of Massachusetts. They've restored a lot of trucks for people after they were shipped to them. They do amazing work!
