    Hi, second Post here.

I tried the search function I swear.....

I'm looking for measurements of the roof rack system for the Taco. I'm looking to purchase a set and love the way they work but I'm concerned because they "swing" into place, they are not adjustable closer or further apart.

If this is the case, I'm looking for measurements of the distance between the bars to make sure they will work with all the different configurations of equipment I like to put up there. (Bike, Snowboard, Kayaks, ladders ETC)

If they make one-I recommend the THULE Towers and Aerobar set up. The accessories are great, the system is well supported by parts and warranty and the pillars are pretty adjustable fore and aft. I've had a couple of those on different cars and a few Yakima set ups. Prefer accessories with Thule. REI has them 20% off every memorial day. Failing that-I've been frustrated by manufacturer supplied fixed point bars. We have those on our Outback and it makes fitting larger items like boxes and kayaks well very difficult.

Based on a quick Google search, it looks like it's 45" between bars. Hopefully someone on here who has the OEM rack can confirm.

Thanks I appreciate it. I figured because the Taco is a smaller cab vehicle, they would be closer together and easier to use then say an outback. But I absolutely love the idea of being able to fold the cross bars to the side easily. also if say ski/board racks are on the cross bars I can fold those to the side also without removing them.

Thanks, how the heck did you find that? lol

I don't think the OEM will fold back with a ski rack on them, the rack clamps won't have the clearance to fit back over the side rails, not definitely sure though, also if you go with the OEM make sure it"s installed exactly per instructions, I have the OEM and it had to be reinstalled by the dealer because of leaks after their first install, if I had to do it again I'd look into the Thule

I don't think the Thule bolts into the roof through the factory holes, I think it clamps to the body over the doors, not sure about this either, probably because of my leak fiasco I'm prejudiced now

They are fixed point, what distance do you need them to be?

Search Rhino rack for the write up I did when I got mine... They do have a track option for a little more money that allows them to side but for my needs it wasn't necessary.

Holds what I needed it to and with the Yakima JayLow I can fit 2 yaks with the cargo box...

^ What is that setup? I looked at RhinoRack but they are too close together, I think 23".

    Roof racks, floor mats.
43" and some change center to center on OEM. A max of only 100lbs cargo.

Yep - that's what I need, although I'll be pushing the 100# with each kayak at 45-47#. Thank you.

Its rhino rack, 220lb limit, search the forum for them and you will see the write up with more picks unloaded.

Perfect thanks, I absolutely love the stock factory racks but 43 I think is too far apart. I find trying to mount snowboard and skiis on the same rack, they usually need to be fairly close together.

Currently trying to find an aftermarket rack I like. I would love a tube design like the Frontier comes with.....

I would get an aftermarket set honestly. The OEM is good for sound but bad for width and weight. I have a ding in my roof from a kayak t bar and two kayaks mounted. Or you could go with a modular bed rack and not have to worry about it.

Those are bad ass, but the site doesn't really do a good job explaining the options. (clear anodized vs powder coat)

how do you mount say a ski or bike rack to it? do the square bar adapter fit from most rack systems?

KB Voodoo. Send them a message and they can get you the details. There are other bed rack systems as well so I can't say which is better. I've just seen this one alot.
