Thanks, was that u-haul? They just quoted 5k for KONA to Tacoma.wa 8x7x5 pod.

Thinking of actually taking our possessions with us this time. When we moved from the Uk we sold everything & came over with 5 suitcases and a big box with 2 bikes in...when we moved to hawaii we sold everything again and came across with 5 suitcases. This time we might save us the hassle of dealing with ‘Craigslist crazies’ and ship our shit with us...

Call PODS to get a direct quote you can’t do it online as they have a different system for Hawai’i. We got all of a three bedroom plantation style house into it. The only thing we left was the couch and mattresses, didn’t want to bring the ass sweat smell with us lol

Depends what you do---- Dallas/Fort Worth Texas has a massive job market and you are central to driving anywhere with your camper. Affordable too

Created an account just to recommend moving to Edmond, OK.
I'd think the mayor would be busier.

Thanks, I’m a photographer so can pretty much work anywhere...

    Lol, I didn’t notice that.

they could have sold it a little better... It’s like people that chime in on a conversation and state “you’re wrong” without giving an explanation...

So far lots of good input... Bend is the winner so far just because I love the brewery and randomly having just chatted to my postman, he mentioned he visited Bend recently and he’d like to move there too!

maybe I should edit the original post asking what the local breweries are too

I have a few friends who relocated to Bend. Some from NYC, some from Texas, and some from San Diego.

Having lived in Alaska, Colorado, Missouri, Arkansas, and Germany, I've got the perfect place to live, but danged if I'm going to tell y'all. Everybody starts moving to paradise and the next thing you know and ain't so much paradise. It is on a lake in a remote part of a state though. Stop in if you see smoke coming out of the cabin.

My friend and my mom’s BFF’s son who also grew up in Kailua owns the Patagonia store in Bend and is well connected. It’s a great place to be rich or poor but might be tough in between.

Actually I probably have a dozen friends there. It’s fantastic in terms of recreation. It’s as expensive as anywhere else which is desirable. It might be a tough spot for work but it would offer insane scenery. Challenging airport access. Absolutely worth a visit but not any easier than trying to make it work in Kona or Boulder or Santa Barbara.

Our list includes lots of PNW since wife’s family is PDX, Olympia, and Snohomish (rural horse farm outskirts of Seattle) wife lived in Sequim, WA for high school and family has land there, worth a quick gaze if airport access isn’t a dealbreaker (no worse than Bend, way way cheaper too)

Hood River has come up. One on my list but vetoed by the wife is Pullman since she went to school there. It sounds awesome to me but probably not right for you work-wise.

Our Summer road trip to Portland included a venture into Vancouver, WA to look at neighborhoods and that was quickly a no.

Portland might be the end of me with rain, cold, grey.

I’m scared to death of selling out of north county SD as I don’t think I’ll ever be able to buy back in.

really want to retire in Manoa. I have 20 years to build up enough net worth to carry my dad’s place forward. It’ll be a heavy lift. Condo is the more likely option but condo fees will probably match my mortgage by then.

The down fall is the people the lazy mofos that dont clear of make thier land fire safe. The government suck ass too.

The west coast is becoming a permanent campfire. My vote is southern UT. Loved living there. I did miss the ocean though
