If you are going to be lifting above 1.75" a UCA is highly suggested.

What other BOSS kit would there be? Lol.

UCA of your choice. You can either go with the cheaper Light Racing one which still utilizes a sealed factory style ball joint. If you wheel I would suggest Uniball UCA's. Much more added strength.

Makers of uniball UCA's are, Camburg, Total Chaos, Icon, and Dirt King Fabrication.

Just giving you shit man :D all in good fun!

No problem. I'm here to help all the new guys. I was in all of your shoes at one point with so many questions about lift's because this like many others is my first truck. Been quite a journey and the build keeps going.

    Before

After: also diff wheels and slightly larger tires

I had the install done. It was about a day and a half including alignment and tire swap. I've had no problems with the light racing ucas, but if I were doing it again I would pay extra for a fancier / stronger uca.

Toytec ultimate lift kit, flowmaster dual exhaust, mb sport 17 inch rims, 33's coming soon
I have the ultimate lift kit with the 2" aal. I put on the lr uca's too and love it. I do light offroading and it is perfect for what I do. Left on the stock tires for now and it looks fine IMO.

Heard a lot of good things on the boss system but couldn't afford the extra money towards it.

I would not put my faith in warranty information provided by a vender, or a bunch of people on a forum, in regard to some other manufacture's warranty. Are they going to pay if the manufacturer does not complete the repair? I doubt it. That said my belief is Toyata cannot void your warranty do to the installation of aftermarket equipoment. However the reality is if the dealer, who respresents Toytota on warranty deccisions, believes your modification is the cause of a failure, they will not fix it. They will leave it to you to prove the equipment did not cause the failure. You can go in and demand all you want but at the end of the day your are responsible for the alterations and Toyota is not. In the diagnosis process you may be asked to return the vehicle to stock in order to complete the diagnosis. On your dime of course. Especially with vibration or handling if the suspension is modified from stock. If you think about it makes perfect sense. Would you want to be responsible for someone else's design, parts and workmanship? I'm not saying don't modify and enjoy your truck. Just saying be aware. Anytime you make changes to the vehicle as built by the manufacturer you are taking a chance. It may have warranty ramifications.

Exactly...went with the TRD BAJA suspension on my '14 PreRunner, and I am very very pleased with it!

I Just installed the bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks with the toytec coils and diff drop last week. Got 2.5 of front lift, and 1.5 rear block, very happy with it drives excellent, no vibrations at all and the truck drives nice and straight. Also still using the stock UCA's and no problem getting it aligned, highly recommend.

I'm at the same point as you. Had my eyes on the Toytec Ultimate Kit, then looked at the Boss kit, and have now decided on Icon Stage 1 with AAL, Light Racing UCA's and the diff drop. Lots of talk on here about the diff drop. I figure it can't hurt and it's only $35. From my research, the Icon S1 is a pretty big jump in quality for maybe an extra $400. Worth it to me. I've been in touch with Toytec and they've been great- I live nearby and will be picking up my kit next week.

Well I am really considering pulling the trigger on the boss suspension with all the bells and whistles (Toytec 2" Boss HD leaf springs and total chaos UCAs) totaling at 2300$ - with a coupon. I feel like I've done a ton of research the past month or two double and tripple checking on things and with what I plan on putting my truck through (not much abuse at all) I feel like this is the right move...I considered Icons but really, to spend the extra money I don't believe it's worth it if I'm not going to get back what I put into the suspension. What I mean is, dumping the money into it when I wont be using it for what it's meant for. For owning the truck for 14 months and only accumulating 5300 miles, it's basically been my weekend vehicle and will continue to be as I have a company truck and travel a great deal during the week. I wish there was a way to try each one out for a few weeks before biting the bullet haha but...

For the guys running this the past few months, how do you find the ride comfort (onroad and off)? I dont mean to keep with the questions but the info has really been helpful.

BTW my truck is the 2.7L so there is a weight difference up front...not sure if that is something to consider when it comes down the weight factor in the front of the truck?
