Seems to depend on when they do a "run" of Tacoma Covers. I pretty much looked first thing in the morning and then once in the evening. There were two posted when I bought mine. Mine which only had cosmetic "spots" in the coating (i can't even see them when it is closed) and another one with "extra cleats" which meant they put the cleats where they would for the HD model except it was the SE cover so they knocked off I think 5% or 10% for that. Mine is perfectly functional and once I carried a few things on top the "spots" blended in anyway. Great cover to secure things but really easy to remove.

Looks like they still have one for the shortbed

I am looking for the long bed, but I might just end up getting the OEM cover. However the I read the OEM needs other parts to make it fit which I am having a hard time figuring out if I buy this does it come with all the clips. https://www.*****************.com/oem-parts/toyota-tonneau-cover-soft-regular-6-5-bed-pk3b135g6s

I did look at this yesterday just didn’t respond. I was gone by the time I looked and it looked to be for third gen and I got second gen short box. I will find one eventually I am still deciding what to do. Deam is to have dB and then the tent on the roof but idk about the mpg hit. Anyone?

Nice looking cover. I personally like the idea of stuff on top of the dB but honestly I am unsure of what to 100% do with my truck.

Did your Lomax covers arrive yet? Would appreciate you letting us know what you think of them when you have a chance to install and test them out, I’m thinking of getting one.

Mine actually arrived Thursday evening right when I was getting ready to leave for the weekend. It seemed like it was well packed from what I could see. I didn't have time to install it. I will be working on it some evening after work in the coming week. I am very interested it see how good it is. I does look like a great value for a hard cover at the price it's offered here on the forum. I'm also going to install it with a tailgate seal. Look for me to share my thoughts in a few days when I get it installed.

I installed a Lomax on my truck. Easy installation and I am really happy with it - have had it on the truck since February. I have not added any extra sealing - have a roll but just haven't done it.

One tip - slip your tie down cleats into the rail between the support brackets for the cover. That way you can still use them if you need to. If you wait, you'll have to take the brackets out to get the cleats in. I have 3 on each side of the bed.

Thanks that is a great idea. I only have the two pairs that came with the truck. I didn't use any of them till the other day to keep a cooler from sliding around.

I plan on going with the Truxedo Pro X15 so I can easily roll it up when I need to use the bed or load by bike. I also like that it is low profile and canvas instead of the vinyl of other soft tonneau covers. A buddy had one on his 2nd gen and loved it.

I bought some before I got the truck not knowing they came with it - so I used an extra set when I put the Lomax on. :D

Bakflip MX4 for me. Really simple removal too when you wanna take it off for whatever reason.

That’s one thing I considered is only covers that still allowed me to use my rails and cleats. I read what you said on another post about being able to still use cleats with the Lomax, so I went out to the truck and tested, I was able to loosen my cleats really loose and angle the bracket into the rail and retighten just fine. Didn’t have to slide in at the end of the rails so I should be able to install anytime that way or is there something about the Lomax that won’t allow that?
You’ve had your Lomax a while so appreciate the feedback that you’re still pleased with it!

In retrospect, you may be able to slip them in if you loosen them a lot - I didn't test that. Once in, I didn't plan on taking them out. :D I do really like the Lomax. Hopefully you'll have the same good experience with it as I have.
