Hey y’all, I’m wondering what tunes people have and which one to get. Ive heard good results about the OV tune but if there’s another tune out there I’d love some input:)

Your best bet is for to use a local “tuner” and talk with them with what they recommend for your truck and driving style.

I got the OV2.0 tune about ....4 months ago or so?
Supper happy with the overall gains... throttle response much better, shifting much smoother, more powerful feeling and ECT performs even better.
I got probably a 2.5-3 MPG gain even with my RTT. I'm averaging 19.8 city, prior to, I was getting 16ish....

I think there is a KD max tune, but when I was getting tuned by @SubaruTheTacoma, he recommended with my driving style, to go with that OVTune.

    Just my experience.

Lol nah, I’m just new to the Tacoma world (coming from an 05 4Runner) and 33s are really uncomfortable on these Tacos with the indecisive shifting

These V6 are designed to make more torque and horsepower at higher rpms, the cam timing changes at 3500rpm so do not lug it and floor it!

    Welcome aboard.

There are fanboys for every tune that's available, so you'll have a lot of people telling you to buy a specific tune.

I've tried many of them, and while a lot of them felt like slightly modified versions an OVTune tune, a couple of others felt like actual custom products that had some thought and time put in to their creation.

If you have the money, I'd recommend buying vF Tuner, and then buying any of the tunes that you can afford. Eventually you'll settle on one that you like. You can also dig deep in to learning how to modify one of the unlocked tunes to your liking.
