    If you want a fast truck, get a Ram hemi. You’ll regret if after a few years when you have to dump tons of cash into it to keep it running.
    If you want a dependable truck that’s easy to DIY maintain and get 300k miles out of it, get a Tacoma.

    A mild lifted Tacoma will probably get the same mpg as a Raptor. Before my Tacoma I had a Tremor and it got better mpg than my Tacoma.

    All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    A buddy just bought a blacked out RAM TRX. Sure it’s twice or more the cost of a Tacoma, but that thing is completely bad ass! I would own a stock one over my built Tacoma any day of the week. Thing was stupid fast for a truck and ate up the speed bumps like they weren’t there.

    I too would choose a 100k truck over a 35k truck.

    around town my F150 with 35’s and long travel ecoboost engine (basically same as Raptor , they have the high output) will get better gas mileage then my Tacoma.

    I would suggest the driver 10 way adjustable electric seats. I think this is on SR5 and up.
    My mistake thinking it was only on the pro

    @southern93

    Skip the auto, get the manual.
    Skip the intake, maybe get the TRD exhaust.
    And jump right on the supercharger bandwagon. That is going to be the only way to actually feel any more hp/torque in this truck.

    I think a Tacoma purchase is like a boat purchase. Based on this forum, The best days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. You should buy a 2nd gen everything post 2nd gen is garbage again according to this forum. In all seriousness though, If you want a fast truck this is not a truck for you.

    Get one, with the 6 speed manual if you can find one. They are rugged, reliable and super fun to drive!

    When you pay more than $50k for a Tacoma you have to convince yourself the seat feels more comfortable to help justify the price!

    It's a good reliable truck if left stock. Can't see why some need to screwup a perfectly good running vehicle like this. If you want another high performance sports car, this isn't for you.

    I like to do the service and repairs on my vehicles, but if I was a complete fanatic I'd buy a Ram, Ford or GM. I'd rather be happy to do it occasionally than be made to do it regularly. Toyota makes reliable trucks, happy reliable ones. Your choice.

    Actually i paid considerably less than $50k because the dealer wanted it off the lot because it had a DEI i think OTD was $43914.00 tax and all. Im 62 so I treated myself as retirement.
    I do not think a mid size like the taco is worth any more than that out the door tax included.
