Heard this noise before the tires/wheels and before the lift. It has gotten louder, I think.

If I go out to the truck, start it up and turn the steering wheel slightly (doesn't matter which direction), it clunks. It does it that one time. To make it do it again, I have to move the truck a couple feet and turn the wheel slightly again. Looked under the truck the other day and saw some play in the rear bushing of the lower control arm on both sides (drivers side had more play).

I'm trying to get it on the lift at work to look at it but like I said it won't do it on the lift.

I can replace the bushings (thinking Energy Suspension), or replace the control arms because the ball joint is part of the assembly and I have 130,000 miles on the truck.

    Did a little more snooping.
Pulled the truck into the driveway of the place that is going to do my tires. Hit the bump and it clunked, first time I heard it while driving.
So I went home moved the truck back and forth (drive to reverse) trying to duplicate it and it clunked mostly going backwards.

Think I'll buy lower arms tomorrow.

Ordered new control arms today. I also ordered Energy Suspension bushings to install into them.

Tie rods and sway bar end links are good. Installed new sway bar bushings when the lift was installed.

Do you think it could be the steering shaft rag joint? Zip tie mod?
