I just got a new PreRunner that I was looking to get a bit more "tone" out of without being as loud as a Flowmaster 40 (have a free one waiting on me), happen to see this comment can anyone verify that the TRD Muffler is different that the PreRunner factory muffler? And can anyone comment on the change in loudness/tone/sound from a facotry muffler to the TRD?

I don't know about the TRD muffler but I do know that using a Super 40 Flowmaster exhaust will make your truck sound ALOT better compared to factory. To each there own but this exhaust is awesome & I love it every time I start my truck!!!

Just installed a TRD exhaust on my 2013 DC TRD...definite change in tone from stock...Smooth, deep tone..not too loud...Im told it will settle and sound even better after a while...

True that. Good thing about the TRD is that you also are not overwhelmed by the exhaust note especially if you want to hear a conversation or music over it.

True acceleration and performance improvement. You can't go wrong here too because you can change just the muffler for louder rumble.

In my opinion. I have heard a few but have never ridden in any but mine. So not well justified in comparison to other exhaust systems

Redneck is a nissan 4-cylinder manifold split 2 and 2, into 1.5 inch pipes dumping out right behind the front tires. No mufflers, no tip.

Loud? Lets say that it is NOT a good idea to make it backfire in a tunnel with the windows down....the flame was cool though.

This is not my truck but one of the videos that made me make my decision on the 18". The only difference between mine and this video is I have the URD TCAI installed. Pics in the profile. (and by redneck I dont mean to insult anyone haha, I simply mean the loud, ear popping racket that some trucks have, and being from the country in NC, I have first hand experience with "redneck" trucks, so I mean no disrespect. I think given the choice, most people would want a nice "perfomance" sound over annoying) :)

This is my Flowmaster Super 40 exhaust going thru the gears from a red light. Like I said before, the sweet spot is around 1500RPM but there is no annoying drone at highway speeds nor do I need to crank my radio up (other than when I want to of course) to drown out the noise. I believe this exhaust only cost me about $70 roughly off of Amazon. I got it installed & it sounded great compared to stock. Of course that's my opinion.

Keep it stock. Loud exhaust sound horrible with the 1GR-FE V6.

If you want a nice sounding exhaust with a V6 get a Nissan with a VQ engine
