Mine does this. Getting worse lately too. Think I'm going to upgrade to something with wireless Apple CarPlay.

I'm liking my 15 thus far. It's only been 2 months since I bought it used with 36k miles. Guy paid it off and traded it in on a Honda mini van for his family. Only complaint I had was it came with a defective driver door lock actuator that I missed when test driving it. It would not lock electronically so I had to manually lock it by hand every time I left the truck. I purchased a 100,000 mile extended warranty with it when I bought it that covered the actuator being fixed at my local Toyota dealership. This truck is an upgrade interior wise from my old 2004 Prerunner. I'm not gonna b*tch about a non existent dash clock on this 15 that I had on my prerunner but couldn't see unless I leaned to the right and looked down because it was tucked right behind the steering wheel above my knee.

As other's stated before, my truck came with the carfax sheet that showed the guy kept up with the service at Toyota for the 6 years he owned it, I would recommend making sure whoever had it kept the maintenance up.

I'd add that if you, or anyone else were searching for a 2nd gen 4 cyl stick, that you carefully check the master cylinder unit on the clutch pedal under the dash for any fluid leakage or drips. My son purchased a 2005 SR5 4 cyl access cab stick (exactly what he wanted) w/130k on it, and after a few months noticed a leak at the master cylinder on the clutch pedal at about 150k and he got it fixed. All was well until about 160k and the slave cylinder at the clutch failed too: catastrophic leak that left him stranded at the side of the road waiting for AAA. Since this was another failure of the clutch hydraulics he took it back to the Toyota store that fixed the first problem. They did him right and gave him a nice Highlander loaner. Good thing: It took three weeks to find and get the part shipped in to California and then to the east coast. Future or current seekers of stick Tacomas should take a look under there for any fluid drips. Note: the old master cylinder was plastic or nylon... the new one is metal.

I had the restarting issue w/ my head unit. I just downloaded the firmware update from Toyota and updated my HU via a USB drive. The update got rid of my restart issue and also gave me a clock on my head unit. That's all I know

Thank you. Maybe I did it wrong. I'm not having the re-start issue on the head unit so I think I'll just leave it alone. I can do without the clock on the touch screen.
