Location, Location....with the east & west coast states the prices run higher, but with things in the middle states the cost will be lower. So, hard to compare pricing unless we know our locations in the country.

My TRD sport was invoiced at $32,500. Truck is DCLB and came with lots of accessories like invisible bra, bed extender, steps, mud guards, mats and tonneau cover. Ended up paying $34,500 before tax and fees. Not the best deal but we feel like it isn't bad especially it was listed for $38,600. If I have a choice I wouldn't get any of the accs with the truck and either buy it off CL if I want it or go with aftermarket bolt-ons because they are far superior compare to Toyotas.

Anytime you can get actual purchase price of vehicle down 2500 to 3500 off of Sticker it is usually decent. Next what you have to look at though, is how many fees, dealer adds, tax, etc. is going to run you.

In general I try to shoot for $500 over invoice max for vehicle purchase price with all factory options, I try to avoid all dealer adds or get them to take them off the pricing.

Rule of thumb, if you can get Out the Door for Sticker price (MSRP) or just under (out the door is total amount after taxes, fees, registration etc) you're doing pretty good.

It would be an amazing deal if I could get MSRP as out of the door price like with financing and all. I brought the missus along and boy that was a mistake. She keep saying yes to all the dealer upcharges like extended Warranty and Care packages. I had to beat down the finance manager but in the end walked away with 2.8% financing, I don't think I could get a better rate, especially my truck was the only one available in that package in that color for 250 miles around. That or a 3 months wait.

Sometime you have to do the math, Tacoma sale taxes would be around $2500 so you better off negotiate off the price of the truck. You would feel like a fool if the salesman immediately agreed...lol

Don't know about where you are, but I got a DCSB 4X4 SR5 with only the Tow Package for $29,900 before TT&L down in South Mississippi. I wouldn't have minded buying a TRD Offroad, but all of them had extras that really bumped up the price. I didn't think the locker (the only real thing I wanted the TRD Offroad for) was worth the extra $5000 I would have had to pay to get one. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the truck.

I have an SR5 with the stock radio and the through phone navigation..... I really don't think there is anything wrong with the stereo. It could be louder, but actually sounds pretty good for driving in a car.

Thank again for the replies. I have read all of the treads with the complaints about the vehicle, which I take with a grain of salt. Those are not swaying me away from the tacoma.

I think I am set on the SR5, I can't come to reason to spend extra 4k to upgrade to TRD Sport. All upgrades I would like to do with aftermarket parts anyway.

Really looking forward to becoming a part of the community. Thanks!!

SR5 is dandy, but then there an issue of the scooped hood :). I've heard people drive 600+ miles in their Limited to trade hoods, with cash on top.

If I had your budget and needs I would get the SR5. That being said, any dealer that tells you "The lowest we will go" should be canned and walk out. There is absolutely no reason you cant get the out the door price at sticker or under if you do the right amount of searching. Vehicles in general are terrible in depreciation, it being a truck helps but still. A v6 4x4, which is what I have in the Limited trim suits me well. I use 4x4 about 3 times a month but could probably get away with a RWD one. My philosophy is, get what you may need so if you do need it, you are good to go.

Just bought a BLK TRD OR (manual) on Saturday. Purchase price was $32,070 in Westminster, MD.

Definitely should go with the stick. With the new V6, acceleration is a little weak in the lower gears.

If your saying my pay and compensation which is below my civilian counterparts is wasteful for defending our nation you are sorely wrong, in terms of federal spending in general, entitlements, etc. and corruption in DC then yes I agree.

I had a good experience buying my 2013 with Fitzgerald Toyota in Gaithersburg. I know a lot has changed with the 2016s, but it might be worth calling or visiting them.

Cutting troops compensation is far from the answer nor should it be supported. Any servicemember that works over 40 hours a week for less than their civilian counterpart spending months away from family and home, and putting their lives on the line will tell you there are FAR better ways to cut within the defense budget. Continuing to use troops as political pawns and cutting their pay and benefits is gonna weaken a already low morale tired force. Good luck getting $15 an hour entitled burger guy who couldn't pass a pt test to save their life fight for your freedom and defend our nation.
