looking to buy a Tacoma, need your opinion.

I'm looking at buying a 1999 extra cab 4x4 Tacoma with about 160k on it. The asking price is $7,300 OBO. The only thing I'm worried about is the rusted undercarriage, it has a lot of rust. The owner said he took it in to Toyota a few times over the years, and they said there was no problem with it. Should I pass and keep looking?

 

Pass IMO , Thats some thick build up

 

yah, that's probably the best thing to do. I've been researching ways to treat rust and it looks like a lot of work and money. Thanks muddog67

Absolutely pass! I got my 97 xcab 4x4 200k miles without a spot of rust for $1500

 

Toyota would've bought it back. He's lying to you straight up. Don't be a part of his scam.
