I have the grey upgraded skid plate but I don't have a way to mount it without the OEM skid plates. My model did not come with them from the factory. Anyone selling? I'm in NorCal. Willing to pickup if local or pay shipping if reasonable. I would need all mounting hardware. Thanks!

You can mount it just fine.

I removed my black splash pan and have the same skid plate on the same truck.

Your skid should have come with bolts. That's all you need, unless somehow you're without the bolts?

Can grab those at the hardware store.

No I can't. There is no place to mount it because it is supposed to mount through the factory plates. There are no factory plates to mount it to. I can take a picture and show you what I mean. The holes on the truck don't line up to anything to actually screw it into.

I have the grey skid plate that I ordered. There is no place to mount it on my truck in the other picture.

Yeah. You don't need anything else.

You can mount it just fine without the black splash pan, the instructions just want you to use both.

I speak from experience with both setups.

The picture of my undercarriage shows no place to mount it. Looking at pics online it looks like my rails are different.

This is what I mean. The red circles show where you would bolt it into right? My truck does not have these mount points. If anyone knows where I can buy those with preferably the OEM skid plates/splash guards, I would be most appreciative.

I bought my splash guard back in 2013. Amazon said it would fit. Guess not huh? Too late to return it. Maybe I'll figure out a way to make my own bracket and attach it somehow.

Just sell it on here and move on... I thought about a bracket, but if you do that...might as well make your own splash guard or buy one from street tacos

    http://stores.streetacos.com/2005-2015-tacoma-5-lug-splash-plate-front/

I just wasn't pleased with the way it looked compared to OEM so I didn't buy it...but you might like it.

Making your own bracket....don't know how beefy you can make and look right. Good luck if you can make it work.

Well I made it work. I bolted it through the crossmembers up front and then drilled two holes in the back of the plate and bolted it through the crossmembers in the back. I still need to bend the front right a bit to level it out but it can be done on a 5 lug Tacoma. When I have more time I'll drill out the hokes in the back and use bigger bolts.

Overall I think it looks pretty darn good.

The OEM splash guard was a bit different if I remember, but what about the oil pan area. Main point was to protect that...the skid guard is more for off road...I just wanted to protect the oil pan from damage.

Good job ... just not sure if there's enough protection...

It's a start. I gotta get my hands on an OEM setup to figure it out.
