I’m looking for a nice soft top for my 2017 Tacoma double cab short bed. Any recommendations? Pics? Reviews? Mainly want it for fishing and probably take it down and put it away every once in a while.

    TIA

I also have the same questions...

Set up time to take soft top up and down? Durability?

Time to put up? About 2 minutes.
Time to take down? About 2 minutes.
Time to take off, leaving mounting rails? about 2 minutes...
Time to take the entire thing off, including mounting rails, off? 5 mins.

As to the durability question, I've had mine for about 2.5 years, it's been in snow, rain, and desert environments, and the only thing I've had to do is replace one snap, because a guy at a lumber yard just grabbed the side panel and pulled. I have mine up and down, and off, a couple of times a year, and let's just say it gets used the way it was intended.

I have had a Bestop on for the last 7 years. The foam seal on the side rails probably need to be replaced, but it still does the same job since day 1.

Only had mine since Christmas but it's been great so far. Mainly got is so I could throw my dog in the back when she's all dirty and I don't want her messing up the back seat.

The great thing is the Softopper offers a lot of versatility. I can open up a portion of the sides and roll up the back window to get good airflow or close everything up when its raining and I want to keep everything dry.

I can also collapse the entire thing if I need to carry something tall like a fridge.

I bought directly from Softopper and went with grey hoping to keep things a little cooler when in the sun.

+1 for the Bestop. Its pretty rugged and has held up well for a few years now.

One more question, how long did it take to ship to Hawaii? Lol. I just ordered directly from Softopper too, but don’t have an estimated delivery date yet.

This is probably a little late but took about a week and a half from placing my order to arriving at my door. This was during the week of Christmas.

Whenever it show up, you'll love it! My Softopper was on of the best purchases I've made.

Nice! Another super white 3rd gen with a Softopper! I'll be looking out for you. I've been seeing more Softoppers and Bestops around the island recently. Looks like they are catching on.

Think I'm gonna grab a softtopper. Tired of the sun roasting anytihng I put back there, but only would use it a few times a year. Also have a 3 month old husky so he'll want some shade in the future. Love the idea of the roll up sides, etc.

EDIT: Holy crap I thought they were about half that price

How many of you have used your softopper for camping and sleeping in? Is this a good solution compared to a RTT set up? Pro's / con's?

A pro is it’s sealed off from outside weather really well.
A con is you’d have to make room in the truck bed if you have a lot of stuff with you.
That’s all I can really think of right now. Lol
