    Hi,

Iam about to pull the trigger and buy a used black 06 tacoma double cab TRD offroad with running board, 29k mileage it also has tow package and 6 disc cd changer. Price listed 21500, I asked for 19800. They told me 20k.
The front bumper was little scratched up which is minor but they are going to fix it so they can sell it to me for 20k. The sales man said he will get back to me , he will talk to someone on Monday but not sure if he can get $19800. Is $20k a good price? Iam thinking of taking it for $20k

    thanks

Assuming it's a 4x4 shortbed, and without knowing any of the accessories it has on it..., the KBB value is around 21.5k - sounds like a goodish deal based upon a lot of assumptions...

    and Welcome to TW

    ^^ Good Advice ^^,
Run Edmund's TMV pricing based on your zipcode & options, it will give idea plus check craigslist, autotrader for what prices are advertising etc. Dealers always seem to be higher than people selling PP.

I do not think 19,800 or 20 is bad, what is the warranty, still the remainder of the 3/36? Find out when the truck's VIN was started so you know when it runs out, it could be close to the 3 yr as opposed to the 36k.

That's the exact same truck I have. But I have 41,000 miles on mine, I'd say it's a good deal.

    Oh, and mine is blue.

If you want $19,800 tell him thats all your gonna pay. Right now the auto market is in your favor.

How are they going to "fix" the bumper?

I think it's from purchase, so I would think from the date of title.

A certified loaded pre-runner w/ TRD shows $18800 on Edmunds TMV for my area, maybe in other areas it would be better.

Not trying to ditch on your deal, in the end, it is what you are happy with that all that matters.

As far a the warranty date, mine is a 2006 I bought new in March 2007. 3/36 Warranty started on the purchase date of March 27, 2007. As far as price, it was a leftover, 4x4 DC SR5 w/ Tow & I paid 24.5 new. The rebate & financing sealed the deal. I am sure with the market, leftover trucks are still out there with attractive pricing available. As 05TRD said, its a buyers market!

Do not take delivery until they have fixed the bumper to your liking. Also, do not take delivery at night. I learned this the hard way.

As for the 2006 tacoma double cabs has there been any problems that I should look out for compared to the 2007 and 2008?

Iam looking at this black 2006 tacoma that I mentioned and also a 2004 infiniti fx 35 black also with sports package. But the tacomas are more reliable and its a truck, so I will probably pull the trigger Monday hopefuly I can get if for 19,800, If not I might just have to take it for $20k

It looks like this and the exact same model but the one Iam looking at has the running boards, its debaged and has a hood protector that I will probably take off. Not sure what changes they made from 06 to 08

Doesn't that seem awful high prices for a 4x2???? I just bought a 2006 Crew Cab 4x4 TRD SR5 Automatic, loaded minus leather and it also has 6 disc in dash, stainless running boards, access bed cover, 42,000 miles in mint cond for 19000. 19-21 for 4x4 is normal, but a 4x2 is 3-4 grand less around here.
    I just bought mine wednesday!!

You should hold out and get your price for the truck. The way the car market is right now you can find the truck you want for that kind of price.

    Hi thanks,

They did not want to give it to me for $19800, the sales guy told me there is someone else looking at it, I called him to see if he could get me that price but I guess he could not, Iam in no rush, there will always be something.
