Looking to buy used 3rd gen

Shouldn't be hard to find. Starting to show up on the buy-here-pay-here lots around here.

 

Short of the recall, I'm happy with mine. Kinda bummed about the recall. They did give me a Tundra to drive while they wait for Toyota to tell them what to do.

I really couldn't find a good deal on a used one here. They want $25K for a used Tacoma that's a few years old and has 125,000 miles on it. I got a better deal on a new one. If you can get a deal, great.

 

Sounds like he traded for a turd gen. Lol. Minus the timing belt. Sludge is from not changing oil. Not do to engine design.

My 3.4l has 280k miles. Is 20 years old. No sludge. One timing belt replacement that i can tell. Everything else is original on the motor.

 

Gee, and here I though I was the one and only lucky 3rd Gen owner with a great running little truck!
Or at least that's some wanted me to believe.
But no issues after 20k+ miles OP, except for the notorious CPS on pre 4/16 build dates, I haven't seen any mechanical issues that concern me.
