I'm going to throw out 255/75/17 as an option that are slightly larger OD than a 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 (32" vs 31.6") with a half inch narrower footprint that you have some good tire options for like KO2s, Duratracs, and KM3s in C and D ply ratings at sub 45-lb weights. Based on my experience fitting up 255/80r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on TRD Pro 4r wheels which required removing the mud flaps and very minor trimming of the fender, I would think as long as you run Toyota wheels you could run 255/75r17 with no trimming and probably not have to remove mudflaps either.

Just curious where you are located. I am in Chandler, AZ and have a backup set of 255/85R16 BFG KM2 mounted on rims from a 2002 Tacoma. We could test fit them on your truck. The rims don't look great but you can see the fit.

265/75R16 worked well for me for quite a while.
I had the opportunity to go to 255/85R16 (33") and took it.

I think you may never know for sure until they go on. Yesterday we put 17 inch Method MR305s with zero offset after installing Bilstein 5100s up front at tallest setting and 5100s in the rear with a one inch block. The 265/70/17 KO2s rubbed just backing out of the parking lot. Came home and removed front mudflaps and all is good again. No big deal, was just surprised. Really, really a good call on this truck at least, to not do the 285s since I didn't want to do any trimming of the truck body. It's a 4x 2012 DCSB SR5. I'm selling the old 16 inch stock wheels and 265/70/16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs as a set on KSL if anyone is around these parts.
